      In order to comply with the Regulation on Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (“FATCA”) and Common Reporting Standard (“CRS”) and provide you a comprehensive and up-to-date quality services, it is crucial to update your account profile (including but not limited to your financial capability, investment objectives, investment experience and risk appetite) for protecting your account and making wise investment decisions.

       

      Please complete the “Client Information Update Form”, “FATCA Form”, “Self-Certification Form” and other documents as requested and return to our Customer Services Department on or before 31 January 2019 by hand, by post to Customer Services Department, 28/F Lee Garden Three, 1 Sunning Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong, by email at customerservices@kimeng.com.hk or by fax at 2537 1548. You may download the required forms from our website.

    Security Tips for Online Trading through Mobile Devices

    • Regarding the recent cyber threats and hacking incidents on online trading, we strongly recommend our valuable clients to pay attention to the following cyber security tips when using your online trading accounts through mobile devices:

       

      1. Install anti-virus software and setup firewall in your mobile device and update the software regularly.
      1. Do not login the online trading platform through a jailbroken iPhone or rooted Android mobile phone.
      1. Use encrypted and reliable internet connection and avoid using public network or unknown network without password.
      1. Avoid using any mobile device from others to login the online trading platform.
      1. Do not save your password during login to prevent any third party from unauthorized access to your login information.
      1. Activate the auto-lock function in your mobile device.
      1. Beware the other is viewing your password during the login process.
      1. Do not disclose your login ID and password to other parties including our staff.
      1. Contact us if you discover any uncertainty and suspicious activity relating to your online trading account.

    New Arrangement on Fund Deposit and Termination of PPS Service

    • To comply with the Guideline on Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing issued by Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) and strengthen our internal control, with immediate effect, Kim Eng Hong Kong will no longer accept any form of third party deposits (including but not limited to bank transfer, remittance, cheque deposit, etc.)

       

      In addition, with effect from 25 November 2018, our company will no longer accept deposits through PPS.

       

      You can continue to deposit fund to your account(s) at KEHK (including but not limited to bank transfer, remittance, cheque deposit, etc.) provided that it is originated from you as the same beneficiary with valid proof. Potentially the time required for crediting fund to your account(s) will be lengthened due to the control enhancement on verification process.

    Change of Settlement Cycle for Indonesia and Singapore

    • The settlement cycle of securities traded at the Indonesia Exchange (IDX) and Singapore Exchange (SGX) adopted an amendment from three business days, known as T+3 to two business days, T+2.

       

      The amended rule will be beginning on 26 November 2018 (Mon) for Indonesia and 10 December 2018 (Mon) for Singapore.

    US and Canada Market: Change to Winter Time

    • US and Canada will end daylight saving time at 2:00pm HKT on 4th Nov, 2018 (Sunday). The time difference between Hong Kong and US East Coast will increase by 1 hour to 13 hours, until 10th March, 2019 (Sunday).

       

      From 5th Nov, 2018 (Monday), US and Canada Stocks Market trading hour will shift for 1 hour, opening at 10:30pm HKT and closing at 5:00am HKT the next day.

    ETNET IQ Streaming Stock Quotes Upgrade

    • In order to provide better trading experience, ETNET IQ Streaming Stock Quotes will be upgraded on 12 October 2018 after 4:30pm. The new version of streaming stock quotes will be operated with HTML5 instead of JAVA which is multi-browser compatible (e.g.: Internet Explorer, Safari, Chrome and Firefox).

       

      Your Portfolio and Summary records will be transferred to new version automatically. However, technical indicators in Chart and stock codes in Multi Quote will not be transferred to the new version due to technical issue. Please refer to the user manual for more details: please click here (Chinese only).

    MIB Two-factor Authentication for Electronic Trading Services

    • In order to safeguard your account assets and protect you from internet fraud, we will upgrade the security of Electronic Trading System with effect from 27 April 2018 (“Effective Date”) to let you enjoy more secured trading services. Starting from the Effective Date, clients will be required to use two-factor authentication (“2FA”) for assessing the Electronic Trading System (including online platform and mobile applications). Please download the 2FA Mobile Application “KE Trade Token” and set up on your smartphone.


      To register the authentication system service on the application, you need to input your account number, password and last 3 numeric or alphabetical characters of identification number (not including any symbol nor digits in brackets). Then, please input a one-time four-digit password (OTP), which will be sent to your registered mobile number (via Email) to complete the registration process

      6. Avoid accessing our trading platform through hyperlink from the unknown third party webpage or unidentified email;
      7. Closely monitor and regularly log on your online trading account and review your client statement;
      8. Beware of any unauthorized changes to your account information; and
      9. Contact us if you discover any uncertainty and suspicious activity relating to your online trading account.

    US and Canada Market: Change to Summer Time

    • US and Canada will change to Summer Time on 11th Mar, 2018(Sunday). From 12th Mar, 2018 (Monday), US and Canada Stocks Market trading hour will shift for 1 hour earlier, opening at 9:30pm HKT and closing at 4:00am HKT the next day.
